It's finally done

...and only two months late; a quilted wall hanging for a friend's grandbaby. But I'm sure the baby won't mind.

The applique is actually 'in the hoop' embroidery designs stitched out on the embroidery machine. Can't see the FMQing much, but there are connected hearts in the sashing and borders, and stippling on the blocks.

It looks like the bottom is wider than the top but that's just the angle of the picture!

My friend has yet ANOTHER grandbaby due any day now - that will make 3 grandchildren, and 1 step-grandchild....and I don't have any yet! I told her she has too many and has to give me one LOL

Precious, Irene, just precious. Two of your blocks make me smile - the moon one: I did that block once and my sliver of moon looked heaps more like a banana... and when I see the 'keys' for baby, I often wonder if teething on Mama's keys is what damaged the most of us. I love the quilt. Wonderful. Polly

Irene, that is so cute! Could you tell me where you got the in the hoop designs. I have a friend who just found out she is going to be a grandma and would love to make her a baby quilt.

Just adorable Irene! :-) I'd never thought of a baby wall-hanging, but I can certainly see how a youngster would find it fun and interesting. Great idea!
