Ah yes, I am a regular reader of Jo's blog. She does fabulous work, doesn't she? Awhile back, she posted pictures of her sewing room and stash. It is amazing to see what she creates with a relatively small amound of 'stuff'. Her blog addy is

And that don't help, either! I have all this stuff and I can't manage to churn anything out. What's WRONG with me.

There's nothing wrong with you Cindy. We ALL go through that. The stash just paralyzes sometimes. I've been this way for the last 6 months or more-just now getting my 'grove' back.

I approach cq'ing the same way as I approach sane quilting. I think of a color pallet I want to work with, and I pull all the things that I think might work-fabric, trims, beads buttons etc. I also find working with smaller blocks much easier to do. I would suggest somewhere between 8 to 10 inches. You still have lots to embellish, but it won't take forever to get the blocks done.

I also use a trick told to me by my friend Martha Green (a finalist for cq in the $100,000 Challange this last year). She makes all the blocks for her quilt and keeps the stack of blocks by her chair. She chooses a thread color and decides on a stitch to use. Work the stitch on the top block, and go down through the stack of blocks til the color runs out. You dont have to do the same stitch of course, but you can. You might think that your blocks would come out looking too much alike, but they don't. Save the beads, butttons and anything lumpy for last. Lol....I sometimes have a hard time doing that. I love putting beads and ribbon embroidery on my things.

Hope you'll give it a try, Lisa

I visit them immediately or not at all........I'm far too disorganized to keep a list. If I really like the site, I bookmark it so I can revisit in the future.

Happy Quilting!

I've tried several methods for remembering blogs, and I've found the one that works best for me is Google Reader.

In your web browser go to

formatting link
. Up at the top of the screen, you'll see Web, Images, Maps, News, etc; the last item will be "more". Click on that, and scroll down to "reader". You will need to set up a Google account (it's free), and you can add all the blogs you want to subscribe to there. I've made the reader part of my Google home page, so every time I launch my web browser I can instantly see if any blogs are updated. You can also arrange the feeds in folders, so all your quilt blogs can be together.

Once you've set up Google reader, if you run across a blog you'd like to add you just right click on the page, and the popup menu will have an item that says "Google notifier". One of the items in there is "subscribe to this feed" -- voila, it's added!

Hope that helps a bit.
