Hi Sharon, I can't help you with the fabric other than to suggest that you try Kickass - the owner is very helpful in searching with her wholesalers for any special orders - if it is available anywhere, she will order it for you. Congrats also on your current weight loss - how are you feeling? Jennifer in Ottawa

If you all want to get a little expensive - you might want to go into the department stores when they are having sales and look for a"Jerry Garcia" tie.

A bunch of his paintings were turned into fabric and they used it to make upscale ties for the yuppie set.

DH owns a really wild one, but pretty in a wierd, hallucinogenic way...

I've got one of the old T-shirts Jerry designed. It's a big "well-loved", but I'd be willing to part with it if you give me your address. In fact, I'd LOVE to part with it...it's taking up space. I may have to search a bit for it, though.

If I remember correctly, it's a watercolor painted tree or something. Might make a nice center block...

Howdy! Welcome, Anastasia. Brand spanking new to quilting? And you already absolutely love it? Welcome home!

What do you teach? Where? We will pour over any and all personal details you care to post. Esp. about where you stash is and who's guarding it. Small stash is no guarantee of safety.

Hi, Sandy! (and the rest of you all!)

What a great welcome! I'm glad I found the group, as I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions for you, and you seem so knowledgeable around here.

I teach Speech, Theatre, and English in a po-dunk little school that thinks it's "Big City". I love my job, but really hate where I am as of late. There's no respect for any of the staff at this school.

I'm presently doing my first quilt, a hand-pieced number I have no idea what the name is. I found it in a book that I bought to learn how, but decided not to follow the "lessons" and just tackle the one I thought was prettiest. There was no pattern, so I guessed. It seems to be working, but I didn't add 7/8 inch for seam allowances on triangles. I'm two inches shorter per block than I thought I'd be. Live and learn! Of course, this wonderful learner's book DIDN'T SAY TO ADD THE EXTRA for triangles, so I'm more angry at the publishers of the book than at myself.

I don't exactly have a stash as of yet, since I've been garment-sewing for awhile and haven't got a lot of cotton or cotton-blends. If you want freaky costuming stuff, I've got that. Fur abounds over here. Three cats guard/chew on it, but you're welcome to it!

That's about it for now, I guess. Stitch on!
