Mid-west quilters? Are you OK?

Hoping all our mid-west quilters have made it through safe and sound.

Lizzy, you beat me to the punch. I was going to also post a note of concern.

Head count, please?

Thanks for asking!

Yesterday (Sunday) was freaky weather here in south central Missouri. Ver y strong winds, some downed tree branches, humid and a high temperature of

78! (Low 50s to mid-40s would be normal for this time of the year.) Othe r than that, it was just another day. ;-) Today is calm and sunny with an expected high in the mid-50s before a cold spell hits later in the week.

Prayers for those who experienced the really bad weather and had losses.

I'm in central Illinois and we were very lucky. I had my daughters on a girl's weekend in southern Illinois and the storms caused some damage that we saw as we returned home. My granddaughter's friend had

24 stitches and a concussion because she fell running to the basement when the tornado hit their neighborhood.

Washington, IL is a lovely town that was devasted. It appears the older, quaint area is fine but the suburbs were flattened in many places. It is very close to my daughter's home and we have been there many times.

So much damage was done, but on a personal note, we were incredibly lucky. There were several lines of storms and they surrounded our cabin, our house and my daughter's house without damaging any of them. My husband had the three grandchildren with him and they were safe but we worried until we checked on all our loved ones. Scary stuff.
