My Quilt Collection Groweth

I wish I'd done this as I went instead of having to go back and collect everything and put it in one place now but so it goes. I'm testing driving a slide show with some of my quilts of the past 3 years. I've got a few more to dig up but for now, this'll do, I think. Please let me know if you have any problems, if you're so inclined to check my quilts out. Thank you!

Okay that's a loooong URL! Here's a shorter link to the quilts then one can choose the slide show if desired.

WOW! All of those in 3 years!! I'd better get busy, I've only been quilting 2 years and I have a total of 4.5 full size and maybe 4 baby raggy quilts. Are there more from before3 years? Can you go back sometime and tell us more about them? Everyone here probably knows your history, but can you tell me how long you have been quilting? hand-piecing or machine? hand-quilting or machine? They are all beautiful, but I really like the 4th one - blue border, lots of blocks - that is absolutely charming!! BJ in GA

My first quilt was the embroidered baby quilt for a grandson that hadn't arrived yet and he was born in December of 2003. Can you go back

Yikes, I hadn't thought of that! I need to do something with the names and perhaps put some details in there.

Everyone here probably knows your

I'm fairly new to the group and also go through long periods of time when I'm too busy to catch up with everyone but I first posted to RCTQ when a long timer quilter and poster on another group sent me over here. Her name is Merry and I haven't seen her post anything for quite a bit now but she does wonderful work and not long ago published some books about mysterys with some quilting themes in them, I believe. She lives in Texas.

As to a bit more history I am fortunate to have the most wonderful SIL in the world who, through another family member, ended up putting in my willing arms yards and yards and yards of lovely free quilting fabric three years ago. I made most of my beginner's mistakes on that so I didn't feel as bad as if I'd done my mistakes on fabric I paid for. From there it was an obsession for me as I discovered I loved quilting with a passion. I've attended quilt shows, borrowed countless books from the library & have gone to see each and every website of everyone here with a website to gain inspiration and admire what was possible if I worked hard at it. Truly, some of the quilts done by the regulars here inspired me more than they'll ever know.

I met others who quilt who have given me quilting books, I've bought a few of my own as well as quilting magazines. I've pored over the quilting websites and the patterns and for a huge bonus, I've even trained my husband well enough by now that he can offer advice or solutions sometimes that turn out pretty good by now! It also helps that he's a saint about my quilting obsession and very supportive and proud of me. (I should mention too that last month for our wedding anniversary he took me to the LQS, dropped me off with the checkbook and turned me loose.)

I still have TONS to learn and there are miles of improvement to be accomplished, as I recently discovered at a local quilt show last month.

I only do machine piecing except for the first embroidered baby quilt. I also only do machine quilting although recently I did 4 tops and since I finally found a job I'll probably end up for the first time taking two of the larger ones in to have them quilted for me at my LQS on their long arm machine.

They are all

Thank you! You're very kind. That's my sampler quilt. The blocks are 9.5" and the sashing was my first attempt at making shadow box borders. You can see how badly they turned out! But that has become my favorite nap quilt now.

I have some more to put up but first I have to back and find them on CDs that have been taken off the hard drive. It's fairly time consuming so I don't know when I'll get it completed.

Your quilts are wonderful, Terri, what fun! Thanks for sharing those, well worth the gathering! One thing you should do though - change the url so we can see the pictures but not have owner's access. Anybody can go right in as if they were you, and trash your album. But I love those quilts, and thanks again!

I am sticking to what I know -- log cabin quilts. I'm making one for my daughter right now. I got so many *orders* from the family to make them all one it is ridiculous! LOL. I loved that yellow star one of yours. Debbie

Thank you and a log cabin is the first quilt I ever made. It was AWFUL and I stuffed it in a drawer and elected not to send it for the birth of my first grandchild in 2003. (That is in my photo album and currently, hanging on the wall in the spare bedroom for my grandchildren when they visit.) I look at it once in awhile and vow to someday make a log cabin I can be proud of. Incidentally, I found a magazine and bought it for the most gorgeous log cabin quilt I have ever seen and someday I intend to make it. I've been thinking of scanning the picture and posting it as it's a beauty. How old is your daughter?

It is for my oldest daughter and she is 25. I started a nine-patch for my

18-yr-old last year, but she likes the flowers on it like she saw in the picture and I am intimidated by the fusible stuff I have to use, so it has sat for about a year now. LOL

Beautiful, Terri!! I especially like the 1st one, the purple/black one, and the one with the yellow sunflowers!! I wondered what I was going to do with the scraps from my DGD's Easter dress!!

As to the mysteries with quilts in them, yes!! You know the author (who's name I can't remember, darn it) of those books and she posts here? Wow, I love mysteries, and those are some of my favorites.
