National Cake Decorating Day

According to Wilton - today (Oct 10) is National Cake Decorating Day! C'mon!!! Now 'fess up - is anyone over there celebrating this national "holiday"?

ROFLMAO

I got this advice on the morning of 11Oct of course but . . . . NCDD? Apparently October is also National Bake and Decorate Month.

Personally I used to love making large ornately decorated cakes, but to declare a "national" day to celebrate this activity does seem just a leetle excessive.

National Cake decorating day? And to think I won't even get one and it is my birthday on top of it all!

I'm getting McDonalds brought home for me for my b-day... oooooh I'm so excited (*insert roll eyes smiley here*) I love my boyfriend, I really do, but someone really needs to teach him how to suprise a girl on her birthday. :(

Someone needs to tell hiM Godiva and a red rose, followed by a weekend away together somewhere romantic...

Actually, I'd get really worried if DH started that malarky after being a non-romantic for the best part of 30 years! I'll accept fabric as a prezzy any time!

celebrating here with an amaretto ;liqueur!

indeed they do need telling!

I nearly thwacked ex when he said that being preggers wasn't enough to warrant a mothers day prezzie - like toting round a baby for 8 months (5 of which in great pain) didn't mean I had suffered enough to deserve one yet!

Only "nearly thwached" - were you not feeling well that day?

If childbirth were the domain of men the human race would have died out millenia ago!!

Yes!

My mom used to buy herself one nice Christmas present. Wrap it up and write on the tag that is was for her and from Santa. Truly shocked my dad when he heard he read the tag and open up a lovely little bracelet ;-)

Sometimes you just gotta get that message across.

I was lying down and he was standing - not the best of times to thwack - especially as standing included painful motion

lol

After hinting for weeks by saying how much I loved flowers I finally resorted to telling exBF that it would be nice if he sometimes bought me some. He looked surprised, then said OK and handed me $20 and told me to buy some.

Now back then $20 was a very generous gesture for flowers . . . . but that was NOT the point I was trying to make!! He just never got it.

You know that is just like getting money for Christmas, I never did like to get money, although that is all I got from my parents for the last several years, because my mother could not shop, if she did get us something else she told me what to go buy my sisters and would say pick you something out too, wow how much fun. I never would so I always ended up with more money. I also always thought that husbands that bought wives "toys" for cleaning the house were crazy and always said if mine did that he would soon learn better. You know I am now older and was folding up towels today and thought, man I wish someone would get me some dish towels for Christmas. LOL how we change over time. I never would have thought that I would ever want something to work with for Christmas.

Happy birthday, JPG! If you don't tell him now, while he's still "just" DBF, he'll never know what you'd like him to do....

Congrats on the anniversary. Two years can seem like forever. Do you have him completly trained yet? Mine takes the garbage out, empties the litter box and puts the seat down. He is definitely a keeper. BTW, we have married for 32 years, 33 in February. He is my rock and my salvation. I got lucky because I only knew him 2 months before we were married (no I was not pregnant). I guess when its right its right. Anyway Happy Anniversery!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Michelle. We knew each other 2.5 months before he proposed. Our pastor kept us waiting for another three weeks while we had our counselling before he would officiate at our wedding. The wait seemed forever! We're both in our 50s and married before, so the training was there.... or not. Not much you can do with a man of that age! LOL He's a good helper around the house but it's the kisses and hugs the rate the highest!
