Need a quilt quote quickly

I need to present awards to the quilt club members who are moving up to 6th grade. We have made hug quilts for community members in need. Our most recent was for the son of a police officer who was severely injured by a drunk driver.

I want to have a nice quilty quote to introduce the awards.

HELP!

When life has gone to pieces, stitch it back together in a quilt.

That's not my original quote, I saw it years ago on a plaque in the hospital OT room, right above the quilting table holding boxes of scraps. I've always remembered it. Rather appropriate I think, sums it up nicely.

I don't either but thought it was a good exercise for a typing speed drill. I don't do that much anymore. My fingers already fly faster than my brain does. Polly

I ended up going with Jesse Jackson's ."America is like a quilt. . .

Excellent choice.

"America is more like a quilt-many patches, many pieces, many colors, many sizes, all woven and held together by a common thread."

Jesse Jackson's analogy (all politics aside) using a quilt is really quite profound.

"America is not like a blanket-one piece of unbroken cloth, the same color, the same texture, the same size. America is more like a quilt-many patches, many pieces, many colors, many sizes, all woven and held together by a common thread. The white, the Hispanic, the black, the Arab, the Jew, the woman, the Native American, the small farmer, the businessperson, the environmentalist, the peace activist, the young, the old, the lesbian, the gay and the disabled make up the American quilt."

DH says he's probably a lesbian. When we go to a party, reunion, wedding - doesn't matter - eventually it will be time to go home. Finding him is easy. If the guys are all gathered somewhere discussing golf games, tire pressure or the stock market, he won't be there. He'll be wherever the wimmen are settled. He just loves the ladies. Polly

"Val" Excellent choice.

Eddie Izzard, who is just a riot to watch in one of his stand up routines, describes himself as "a lesbian trapped in a man's body". Your post reminded me of that LOL
