Yes, that's exactly it. Thanks ever so much Sally. Doesn't it make it look real? Such a clever aid. . In message , Sally Swindells writes

Umm ... I'm not quite sure, since I have my own website to post things to. However, I do know that many people use Webshots, so perhaps someone will help you set that up? Another site that offers free photo hosting is Flickr , and yet another is Photobucket . I've seen some of our members use each of those, so I'd assume that they're pretty user-friendly. :) Good luck, and let us know where you end up!

here is the site with the photo of the finished top. i went with webshots simply because it was the first on the list and took about 14 seconds to liftoff . . . . :

I had a file of 9 different quilts from the info. you supplied, but while I was waiting for permission to send them to you, you went ahead and finished it based on the first suggestion Patti offered. If I had realized you were in that much of a hurry, I wouldn't have taken a nap. After I saw that you had finished the top, there was no point in my mailing what I had, so I deleted the file. You were insistant on having no material for any more squares, so how was I to know?

hehehehehehehe i wasn't in a hurry but a friend dropped by and we read the RTCQ articles and put the blocks on the design board AND the rest is history. we did this all before i got out of my nightgown ;-O (truly!) we did this, too, Before the eq6 picture was posted, and when i saw It, i wanted to make Another quilt. have you been introduced to 'stash'? i didn't have anymore material for Those blocks but i (and every other quilter on this newsgroup) has enough fabric to stock a small quilt shop. and with modern technology (rotary cutter) and strip piecing, i could make 10 Other 9 patches and 24 More 4 Patches before dinner and have another quilt top pieced (following one of Your 9 designs) before bedtime. never ever give up . . . . . . . on this group, nothing is moot and it never sleeps england posted before you got up in the morning. you posted from ny before i got up in the morning (calif). hawaii posted while i was making my quilt and australia missed all the fun but Now knows i eat low carb chocolate and have 3 cats. you'll catch on.

I have stayed out of this conversation until now. You are not familiar to me at least under the name of wholelady. I was very surprised that you requested help and made your quilt before giving everyone a chance to respond. As to reference of stash, that was really tacky IMO and had nothing to do with your request for help with a layout. BTW looking at your quilt top, I wonder how long you have been making tops. What I saw was very elementary. And the message below reads very sarcastic to me. BTW.......... did your formerly post under the name of Betsy Ross?

problem is i posted yesterday evening from california, england had posted 3 or 4 suggestions by this morning, new york posted while i was making my quilt and when i saw the eq6 picture, i made another quilt. AND, apparently, because i have aol and am posting from google, there is a delay with some of the servers and articles can show up in the thread hours later and without continuity. i've been with the group since 2002 (put wholeylady in that blank search box up there upper right, push the search this group button, and see for yourself) i am acquainted with ragmop and butterfly and jean in new zealand and roberta and polly ester (but she has forgotten me) and, with technology, you cannot see a glimmer in the eye or a smile on a face or the glee from a new quilt top but you can judge what's in a heart from pixelated letters . . . . . . welcome to the 21st century. btw, i am sorry you were surprised that i made the quilt before everyone replied but the child for whom it was made is not expected to live too much longer. sorry.

uhm . . . . i'm actually a member of alt.obsessive-compulsive, under a different screen name, of course. this time, though, it was my friend who wanted the top done so she could practice quilting. the blocks were donated, all we had to do was sew them together. i just wanted to eat bon-bons and drink champagne to keep cool and she wanted to sew. i laid them out, she sewed, i put on the borders. took 2 hours (real time), including cool-down breaks. what i've noticed this visit to the group is i've got to pay attention to the "time" of the post. california -> oz->england->new york->california is

24 real hours but not necessarily so in internet time.
