On display

This week three of my finished works are on display in my local quilt store.

It's my first time showing quilts, and the first time for any art or craft in many years. It was pretty scary to bring them in, since I can see the flaws in all of them. But now I want to go back and look, just to see them on the wall.

If I join the local guild this fall, then I can put something in their show next spring. Hmmm.

Good for you, Louise! We all have flaws in our quilts -- at least, we do if we're not Diane Gaudynski or Sharon Schamber or others at their level. Displaying your quilts, though, can be so satisfying, both because it's fun to see them hanging there and because you will be giving pleasure to whoever happens to see them. Go for it! Join your guild and enter the show! :)

Congratulations! It is pretty thrilling to put yourself up there and open to criticism. But also to compliments! Make sure you take some photos of your quilts on the wall! Confession: I once had some work shown in a guild event, and skulked around pretending to be just a viewer so I could hear what people had to say about my quilts :-) Roberta in D

Darlin', of course YOU see flaws - it's YOUR work! But what YOU see as "flaws" others see as *creativity*!!!

Honestly, I think the Good Lord gives us the ability to see our "flaws" just so's we don't get a swelled head and so we try HARDER. So what you're seeing is God's Gift, not your problem or fault! :)

But most importantly, PICS, please!! :)

And of course, congratulations!! :) But that goes without saying! :)

I've done that, too!!! :)

You just have to watch out for "tattle-tales!" I got busted - a friend of mine was standing nearby and called me on it! I was SO embarrassed! :)

How fun, Louise. Dancing in the moonlight for ya! Of course you should go back and see them, it's very gratifying.
