One shoe has dropped, waiting for another!

Yesterday afternoon I finally got the news I have been expecting, even before my dear beloved Terry passed...my dad had succumbed to the lung cancer that he had been diagnosed with in November of 2007. Three weeks into March I recieved a call from him. He said he wanted to see us, he didn't think he had much time left. And although I am facing financial hardship I didn't hesitate and flew out the next morning...taking my son out of school for the whole week. (I am a real stickler about my kids missing school, but somethings are just more important!)

We arrived and he was able to spend some time with us still being coherent. By the end of the week he was pretty much drugged up to really know what was going on, but we had said our goodbyes and I love you's before that point.

I am relieved he is no longer suffering and I'm hoping that he and Terry are enjoying each others company....

One more to go....my grandma. Just pray that she passes quickly and peacefully.

On a lighter note I spent most of my day yesterday cleaning up my yard and pruning my apple tree....it had been slightly neglected over the last few years. Boy, everything is looking better and better!

Okay, now I'm going to go take my anti-depressant med!

Much love to all, Keep up the stitching, planning and pictures! Launie, in Oregon

It must have been so hard, with the sad inevitability about your father's condition. Well done for getting into the gardening. . In message , simpleseven writes

You are doing remarkably well in such adverse circumstances. I'm glad you and your son had a chance to say goodbye to your father.

Grandma will go when she's ready. I hope it will be quietly and in peace, without pain or distress.
