OT: Back from the pain dr.

One more pill to try. Then that's it. I'm done looking for new pills. Believe it or not, the pain clinic has a shaman who sees patients there. She does energy work, helps people balance their chakras. Also I'm starting to eat chia seeds. Yes, the little seeds that you smear onto various ceramic heads and then they sprout and give the heads green hair. Cha-Cha-Cha-Chia!! Apparently they are THE thing with Iron Man and Triathletes. I don't understand exactly why, but one good side effect of the seeds is if you eat them before a meal and then drink water, the seeds absorb water and swell up in your stomach and you feel full and so don't eat much. Yay! That would be good.

So this is, I hope, if not THE last then NEAR the last OT post about my search for pain relief. I am coming very close to admitting that nothing will help, that I need to wean off morphine (very, very hard to do folks) and just hurt. It's not a good thing to consider, but it probably is reality.

Thanks for all the support and kindness and apologies for taking up so much NG space with my physical ills.

Wrong, Sunny. We are concerned about your discoveries, hurt with you when something doesn't work and walk with you on this relief from pain journey. Never feel like you are taking up our time/space. We care very much. I don't know what a shaman or chakras is but if you find a witch doctor from the Pacific who can help . . . hey. Go for it. Hugs, Polly

Sunny, please don't apologize. Venting is very beneficial to the spirit, and we care. As far as the shaman path, I think you should go for it. I've about decided western medicine is killing me. They fix one thing, and the side effects cause something else to crap out. Being sick sucks.

I agree with Sherry about western medicine. I have had FAR better results with traditional acupuncture in 2 1/2 years than I ever had with

25 yrs. of modern medicine. Sunny, please try acupuncture before you give it up.
