[OT] Cluttered Sewing Area

I just jump backwards onto the bed, saves me trying to climb, and it is really easy to get out of in the morning.

Climbing into a high bed is ever so much easier than trying to climb out of a waterbed. If you are vertically challenged anyway. (G)

Sorry, I didn't mean it to sound that way :-(. I was just so shocked at what that must cost to do as shown in the pictures. I'll be good and go back and take a closer look :-).

Hahahhahah! You've made me remember, Nightmist. Trying to climb up out of our waterbed 27 years ago when I was pregnant.

It was wonderful for sleeping. Not so great for climbing out of!

Howdy!

Wait, now: let's don't get hasty!

Take it easy, Bev; cooler weather: cooler minds.

Polly, I'm so glad to see that you posted the tip about making notes. About

2 months ago, I decided to relocate the extension table for my main sewing machine, as I rarely use it & only for taking classes. For the life of me, I have no idea where that "new" place could be. I decided that the next time I do that, I need to write myself a note, but I thought maybe I was the only one that needed that memory jog.

We don't have "insufficient memory" - we have so much data stored in our brains by now that there is very little storage room left for new information! That's my story & I'm sticking to it!

same here, Pauline. too much useless things in my head theres no room to recall other things. i put a lovely pair of earrings dd gave me one year in a safe place. no idea where they are now. too late for a note. i guess when i die she'll find'em and recall the memory of her stupid brainless mother. oh well. j.

Or maybe not. My DM put a Halloween mask of mine away in a safe place so I could use it again. This was when I was 6 or 7 yrs old. We moved from that house and it was never found at any of the places we lived. It got put away real good!! Gen

no doubt. there is so much stuff here it could take someone longer than the

4 full months it took me to go thru all moms stuff back in 2001. the year that started the downhill run. i'm sure i missed some boxes there, tho where she'd hidden them i've no idea. at least whatever i missed she never knew about and tho i'm sure there were some i dont know what all was in them.

Inside our kitchen cabinet where we keep first of the morning stuff like coffee cups, cereal bowls and the sugar bowl is a note. It reads: 404259 Maybe it's the code for opening the trunk of some car for keyless entry. We have no idea what car it might apply to. It takes a village to raise a child and it certainly takes a village to keep up with insufficient memory. One day, one day . . . if you need to punch in a code to open your trunk, try 404259. Polly

Supposedly we have lots of room in our brains but I wonder................an old boss of mine said that it's not that we "can't remember anymore, or remember when we want to", it's just that we have so much information up there it takes longer to sift through it and find what we or looking for. That sounds pretty good but I don't know what excuse I can use for the things I "put in a good place" and then they disappear. LOL

True, Amy. Notes are no good unless you can find them And understand them. There's just bound to be a place for you to put notes that are just right in your face and possible to understand. Inside a closet door or kitchen cabinet door should do just fine. Don't yield to the temptation to be brief or cute. If you hang 3 yards of interfacing beneath your winter serious coat, say exactly that. Polly

How 'bout putting your notes in a 'Notebook'? Put the notebook on a shelf in the sewing room.

I'm thinking a notebook would be just so easy to bury on the cutting table or assorted other stacks. There are some here who are not exactly organized. (You know who you are.) For those, the inside of a cabinet or closet door is better. Nearly none of us have buried a closet door. Well. Maybe just a few. Polly

My Notebook has a hole punched in one corner with a hank o'yarn on it & it is hanging from a hook by the door.
