Well the police have not caught the guy that hit her. Which makes me think that they just haven't bothered. They have the color, and type of vehicle, having the mirror should give them a limited selection of makes, and she caught enough of a glimpse of the plate to know that it was one of the new ones. NY is changing plate designs again, moving to the blue on gold instead of gold on blue. The mirror will have to be replaced or they will get a ticket for not having one. With all of that surely they should have something? They say not. It is not like this is a big city, we are talking a city of less than 15,000 people. In this day and age they have most of the resources of the state of NY at their fingertips. If they haven't got the person by now, they probably won't at all. *sigh*
So far as DD herself, the x-rays show the rib as stable with no splinters, and that is a good thing. They also discovered a mass in the region of her bladder which is not so good.
They are scheduling an ultrasound to get a better look.
