I saw the celebration in Australia on the telly at 8am this morning. It looked like quite a party going on! Happy, healthy New Year to all - wherever you are on the planet!

Alice in NJ - 6 hours before 2009!

Jumping in here to join in wishing everyone a Happy New Year. DH and I just completed our New Year's Eve Day tradition - an early movie, followed by an early dinner, and then home to watch more football (okay, he's watching - I'm going to quilt!). We went to the movie Australia - very enjoyable and you leave the theater feeling good - and then to dinner at Olive Garden (Stuffed Chicken Marsala, in case you're wondering!).

On a side note - the task of bringing the two cats together has gone very smoothly. We didn't get to bring Rowdy home until yesterday (he had to be neutered before coming home, and with the holidays last week, yesterday was the soonest they could do it). We left him in the carrier in the living room for a little while, and Spookie just started sniffing around it and kind of scoping things out. Since there was no hissing or other bad behavior on the part of either of them, after about 1/2 hour, we opened the door of the carrier, Rowdy made his entrance, and they've both had the run of the house ever since. Spookie is pouting a bit, but he's getting more comfortable having the little one around, so all is well!

Looks like Spookie is reacting just like Hodge did - he now feels he has a young 'son' to look after!

Happy New Year from Louisiana! Enjoying my annual watching of the Rose Parade--that is one of the things on my bucket list--to actually see the Rose Parade in person.
