OT: Hello. I'm new here.

Hello Everyone. I've posted a few times, but had failed to take the time to introduce myself. My apologies for that oversight.

My name is anthony (Yes, the small "a" is an affectation). I live in Clearwater Florida, which is in the Tampa Bay Area. I'm a man who has been enjoying quilting for over 20 years. Started the way everyone started in the 80s: hand drawn templates, hand piecing, hand quilting, hand binding. Whew! I still enjoy those arts, but have since graduated to power tools. Like every man, I have ot have every new tool that comes out. Only I'm cruising the quilt shop AND the hardware store.

I appreciate all types of fabric work, but appliqué is probably my favorite technique, hand and machine. I'm also getting into more surface design, but from a traditional perspective. In 20+ years of quilting, you can imagine that I've tried most of it, and I haven't found anything I really didn't like. I guess if I had to pick a least favorite, it would be dyeing just because of how messy it gets.

What else? I work as an urban planner. No kids or dogs, but we have a very spoiled cat. My wife is a secretary by day and a dancer in all of her spare time. I'm addicted to fabric and my stash is totally out of control.

Since I'm very full of myself, I could go on forever, but I've already bored you enough. I hope to become a productive member of this fun community.

Welcome, Anthony. You will have to suffer my upbringing along with Jeanne. I can not not capitalize names. Can not. My school teachers were rather violent. Tell us about the spoiled kitty. Does he understand that quilts in all stages of creation must be tested and inspected? Polly

Welcome anthony. This is a fun group. They are some of the greatest around. Some of us gals cruise the quilt and hardware store too. I just got a biscuit joiner after wanting one of those for years. No shortage of toys we 'need'. Taria

QT does not realize she is a kitty. She thinks she is lady of the manor and I am her personal assistant who must jump up and respond to her every whim or it's nag, nag, nag. But she's really a good girl. She stay off the cutting table and the sewing table, but anything on the floor is fair game.

Be prepare to send samples to our Queen of Chocolate for taste- testing. You never can be too sure about the quality of your chocolate until she tests it. LOL
