Ohhh Johanna, they are beautiful and on the job already. Obviously their names should have something to do with being bosses and inspectors.

Maybe, Bossy (Ginger - after bosses who always lay down on the job) and Boots (Black and white who shows off his/her boots beautifully).

Love the mauve material.

Hi Jo - my names for the duo are Sanduskie and Jolene. It's a good idea to have two sisters. How did you find them? jennellh (change the mail to news)

I love Dickens and Whimbles - don't ask me why. My dogs (one deceased) had the name of Dalton - it just seemed to suit him - Dalton the Dachshund, other dog Clancy just cuz, black cat George cuz the guy who pawned him off on us had that name, and Tigger (bratcat) who DIL pawned off on us when they moved from Atlanta already named by grandkids.

I won't even try to name them...would have to know them for a while first. But they are sure beautiful!!!

BTW, how do you keep your floors so shiny and beautiful? I am quite envious!

Oh my gosh! They are so cute Jo. I'm so glad you have added them to your household. The orange cat looks like she is a bit mischievous to me. Her eyes are very expressive! Years ago I had 2 brothers (are they male or female?), one was orange & one was gray. I named them Sherlock & Watson & they really fit their names (that was just lucky - who can tell when they are just babies!) Have fun with them. I think I might name the orange cat Mischief - I just bet she's going to keep you on your toes - in a good way!

I'm so very glad you have found some little furry friends. You will have hours of delight from such a loving pair.

How about: 'Liquorice' and 'Marmalade'

Seem to suit them quite well >g<

Let us know what you decide? . In message , Johanna Gibson writes

I'm not much on naming kitties, not really sure they are particularly concerned what you call them so long as they are served in a satisfactory manner. How about 'Lucy' for the red-haired kitty for Lucille Ball and 'Liza' for the black one who seems to be wearing a tuxedo? I was trying to think of a female who wore a tuxedo and Liza Minnelli probably did it better than anyone. And me too. I'm just so delighted that you have some new QIs to protect and serve. Polly

Well this is a "no shoes" household. Plus the floor is laminate, not real wood. And I sweep it once a week, and the scrub it with hot soapy water and a cotton rag. I've never found a mop that worked as well as just scrubbing it by hand. Hard on the knees, but works! I went and cleaned the floors after your post. These little nippers are into everything. A bit of egg fell on the floor this morning... didn't last long.....

Jo, they're adorable! I'm not good at naming, but it seems to me that the orange one is trying to cut your fabric by rolling on it. Name her Rotary? No clue about the black/white one.

Lucy and Liza has a nice alliterative "sister sound". I like that. The only other two gals who wore tuxedoes really well, and now I'm going to date myself, were Greta Garbo and Ann Miller. I think Ann Miller did more tap dance numbers in Hollywood musicals wearing 'black tie and tails' than any other costume. I was huge Ann Miller fan. I used to put thumb tacks on my shoe soles and dance all over the wood floors when the folks weren't home. That fantasy dance career came to a screeching halt when I had to explain how doing a high twirling kick while tapping my little heart out knocked my Dad's prized barometer off the wall. *sigh*

Rosie and Jenny were the famous vaudeville Dolly Sisters. Those are cute names too, and they really were sisters. Jayne and Audrey as in Meadows were also well known sisters.

Whatever you come up with PULLLLLLLLLL-eeeeeeeeze don't name them Paris and Nicki.

Caliope and Clio after two of The Muses. The other 7 are Thalia, Terpsichore, Polyhymnia, Urania, Euterpe, Melpomene, and Erato.

The Daughters of Atlas and Pleione could give you some nifty names too. The Pleiades group of sisters were Halcyone, Asterope, Merope, Taygete, Electra, Maia, and Celaeno. And if you still need more of Atlas' daughters to choose from, there are the Hyades group of sisters, named Phaola, Ambrosia, Eudora, Coronis, and Polyxo. Mix and Match as you wish. I think Coronis and Electra would be a cool sounding pair of names.
