Very cute, so glad he is comfortable and dry :-) And that the rest of the household is taking to him too.

Although I'm not so much of a dog person, I think he's really cute!
I know folks who tend to say that they'd never take an animal from a shelter since these critters must be, of course, 'messed up', why else would they end up there. SOOOO wrong! The only ones who are messed up are those who kick out an animal because it doesn't fulfil their expectations as a child substitute. But that is an entirely different story.
I've never known a more grateful cat than my dear Sparrow who was a stray that hovered around my garden. He was so grateful, well-behaved, and social - when DD as a baby cried at night, he'd come with me, to comfort her and let her touch him. He was incredibly shy but allowed me to become his friend, he even favoured me with his adoration. We had to have his teeth extracted - all of them, due to chronic gum inflammation - and he never was cross with me. When he bit me, I could see it in his eyes immediately that he was so very sorry for the mistake; he had wanted to keep his mouth shut, nothing else. He died through my fault and I miss him terribly and still feel so guilty over the accident.
Yet, when he was gone, I felt so lonely, the house was so quiet, that I went out to get another cat about six weeks after his death. However, I didn't have the heart to go for a grown up animal, one with a personality already, but took home two kittens, about two months old. Totally different colour, only cute. In the meantime, the two have grown into personalities, of course, and they are quite dear to me, and to us all. They can never replace my dear Sparrow but they deserved a good home, too, and they have now. No need for guilt because you took home that little fellow, you can see already how grateful he is, I think.

How adorable! I think dogs who have been turned in at a shelter are more grateful for a loving home because of the experience of shelter life- and they express it with absolute devotion and love. It seems you have a winner in Mack! I'm soooo happy for you!

Our little guy was a stray, picked up by animal control near a little town = north of here. It's very rural. He had on a little collar (quite old and pr= obably belonged to some other pup before), but nobody came to claim him. I = saw him the first day he was available for adoption. I intended to adopt a = sweet, lap-sized girl dog. He's not a lap dog, but does love to be held. He= 's just quiet and sweet and funny and fitting well into our household. And,= I think he's going to be a mouser. Yes! With the death of my darling old A= ngus dog (rat terrier) about four years ago, the mice became quite bold. We= 've fought them like crazy this past year and I do not like that. With a ne= w terrier in the house/yard, I'm hoping they will pack up and go back to th= e gully beside the house.=20
