Cheryl,
Please send some my way - the Mornington Peninsula - my garden is sick of having its mouth washed with soapy water and I am sick of bucketing it around the yard.
It is headed east - hope it makes it across the Bay.
Oh dear - I was sitting here wondering what on earth the Block of the Month site had to do with it raining here. I need to get out more!!
For those not aware - BOM = Bureau of Meteorology (aka the weather guys)

Congrats! Happy dancing for you in dry Tucson. Hope this rain has a beneficial effect on the fires.
Cheryl, what great news. What, no picture of you waddling in the rain and mud? lol Thanks for the pictures. Oh how I do hope you guys get lots, and lots of rain. I do hope it made a dent on those fires.
WOOO HOOOO!!!! want more? I'd love to send you ours! it's been raining for 2 days already and looks set for more :-(( I'm starting to wonder if an ark will be needed here!
Thanks for the pics. I enjoyed the "swamp". It is always nice to wake up in the morning and see RCTQ filled with our Aussie neighbors posting.
The major fire centres are about 500km away on the other side of the state, but we are hoping . . . . . . .
lol we wake up to an avalanche of US and European posts from "yesterday"
We got a total of 3.5mm overnight. I just read a news report that said Mildura got 55mm in 45 minutes, wow.

I think we got about 35mm in 20min - hence the flooding. I don't care. Hope it happens again today, and tomorrow, and the next day and all next week too!!
Still happy dancing in the mud!!
The rain has mostly not reached that far east . . . yet. Our State's major mountain resort is under threat today. Most of the town has been evacuated. Fingers crossed they make it through today as they expect rain and cooler temps tomorrow.
It is still raining a little here. The temperature hasn't dropped (still about 80F) so it's very humid, but we are so grateful for the rain that we don't care about the flooding or the humidity or the wet washing sitting around. It could rain for a month and no-one here would complain.
We got 23.5 mm overnight and there are still a few showers around. It is about 25c now but the hunidity is *really* high.

Yippee! I love that poem and I also love this rain we are getting. We raced the go-karts at Oakleigh last night and (as usual) had to change from slicks to wets on the grid (what fun that is!!!) because of the rain. Both girls excelled themselves - DD1 finished overall 16 out of 25 and showing great commitment and improvement and young DD2 finished 22 out of 25, also showing improvement but needing some consistency. She would have finished one spot higher but the young lass ahead of her raced the whole evening on wet weather tyres (to gain added grip) while all other kids went out on slicks as the rain was over after qualifying and the track dried out. Annoying and an unfair advantage but alas, not illegal.
Still I'm one very proud and tired (evening finished at 1.15am and were in bed by about 3am or so - we had guests stay with us) mum relaxing and watching the rain fall.
