OT: I'm a Grandma!

I set up my last business trip to be over 1 month before DD's due date, then the client pushed it back a week and the day after getting here DD phoned to say her waters had broken (nearly 4 weeks early!) but she wasn't having contractions. After 3 days of going to and from the hospital today they decided to induce her and a couple of hours ago I got the following message: " Emma has had the baby they are both fine he weighs 5 pound 2. She had a emergency c section"

Needless to say I want more information! But at least it is done with even if I am nearly 6000 miles away. His quilt is ready, save the label, which can be finished as soon as I get home on Sunday :)

Congratulations! We have a 2 1/2 yr. old grandson and a 10 mo. old granddaughter and they are the best things in our lives. They live very close by and we get to see them often and babysit often. They are so funny and fun to watch!

Congrats, Lizzie.

Are you getting the news in Sasolburg??

If so, I recommend a bottle of good SA red to toast the new boy!!

Congratulations to everyone! A healthy baby and mommy are the ultimate perfect outcome, even if you couldn't be there. Our first grandchild is due in about 3 weeks and we won't be there either. But I hope we can get there shortly after. KJ

Lizzy, I am just tickled pink for you. I'm just now getting into this grandma bizness myself, mine is 10 mo. old now. So far I have learned that mama and daddy's rules turn into loose guidelines at Grandmother's house.

Hi Tutu,

Yes, DH and I are indeed in your gorgeous country in Sasolburg. We are staying in a cute little guesthouse called "The Homestead" in the neighbouring town of Vaalpark and the owner is a quilter. Her friends are coming over to baste her latest quilt this afternoon. In the coffee shop there is the library of the Vaal Triangle guild! Talk about finding the right place. Tomorrow I am off to the LQS with Marlene.

Due to a migraine yesterday we put off toasting Aaron's arrival, but will do so tonight I am sure :-)
