OT: I'm an auntie!

Last night, my brother and his wife had their first baby, and so now I am an auntie by blood (as well as all the times I'm an auntie by friendship with the parents!).

He is very cute, not so little and has very good lungs!

I crocheted him a lion:

Me too Amy. There are only 4 legged, hairy, furry and feathered here. Oh, and a snake.

Hug them up and smoosh them around a bit, then pat them into shape and turn your dryer to no heat and tumble them for awhile. It works even better if you have dryer balls. It is not a cure all, but it does help even the fluff out some.

I stuffed him pretty hard. The yarn is cotton (because I wanted him to be easily washable, and this is what I could get here in decent colours), and it sticks to its shape. I was concerned that he would be too hard, but the big parts have been done for a couple of months and he has relaxed over that time. Also, I handwashed him and dried him on the radiator, and that softened him a little bit more. He is still pretty firm though. Only time will tell how his shape holds up.
