I need your power of hope everyone PLEASE! They're making arrangements as I write to bring my best friend Star home to the local hospice house. It's only a matter of hours now and we're not sure she'll even survive the trip (about a 1 1/2 hour drive), but you know, if not, it's one last road trip and for those that know she and I, it would be so right somehow; we were/are the road trip queens. They're bringin' her home.........

I spoke with Star herself a short time ago. She called me. She sounded weak but very alert and happy to be coming home. Her nurse believes, as do I after speaking with her myself, that she'll make the trip just fine. They're trying to get her medications organized and that's why they're not out here yet. It was so good to hear her voice.

It's almost 14 hours since your post, and i can only hope the trip was accomplished. Star is among those who care for her and you can visit with her.

She made it home just fine and was in quite good spirits when she arrived. Her whole family came plus a few close friends and of course Tia the Yorkie too. We had a pizza party and she had the first piece of pizza she'd had in 11 years. She was only going to have a small bite and ended up eating the whole piece plus some caramel monkey bread. She kicked me out just a short time ago 'cuz her daughter and I were making too much noise, lol Her daughter is staying with her. She had a good, strong, loving, and loved day, relatively pain free. I hope it can be that way until the end. We'll see what tonight and tomorrow brings. Thanks for all the support everyone. This has been quite a roller-coaster ride the past few months. I have learned a great deal.
