MMM, mayonnaise! Oil and egg yolks! Bet the kitty would even eat it without the pineapple :-) Maybe even without the bread, if especially hungry. Roberta in D

As everyone who knows me can attest, I talk to everyone, everywhere! Used to embarass my 2 boys when they were younger. I find that if you chat with people, you always have an interesting experience, and it makes waiting a whole lot better.

Pat, the pattern is a single one, not in a book or magazine. I GREATLY appreciate your looking.

Thanks, Paulette in WV

1) Have you called or written the designer? Many will replace damaged patterns:

2) The nice folks over in rec.crafts.textiles.needlework may have more suggestions.

Kay (ps: I looked at the chart on the designer's website -- very nice!!!)

Cleo has been known to eat green beans, Trouble has a great love of lettuce, and Samson likes day old popcorn. So much for cats being carnivores. Right now we are feeding them Purina dry food and Wiskas wet food. I've got to go check again though because there are new additions to the recall--they found melamine in rice protein in pet food too. Seems mighty fishy to me that the list of unsafe pet foods just keeps getting longer, and I wonder more and more about the human food.

BTW: City folk coming to this town are always amazed that people talk to one another here too. Some of them enjoy it so much that they stay. Debra in VA See my quilts at

John, my town just moved from all one prefix to two because of all the extra dedicated internet phone lines. Now we have to use the whole 7 digits when dialing a number instead of the last 5. I was a little sad when that happened. Debra in VA See my quilts at

We talk to a lot of people out here in the west too. I have often chatted with people at the grocery store, the bank and so on. Maybe not to the point of names and all, but other stuff sure.

I hope you mention to the store's manager that he needs to be sure to clean the kitty's teeth after fruit. The acids can really affect the teeth and the cat could lose them. Knew a cat once who loved cantaloupe, and he had some problems so they had to cut back on giving it to him. (This cat also loved to get dressed up-- I made a costume for him at one point. He stood still for measurements and fittings. Very much the gentleman. He looked good on TV too. His name was Vlad, so you might be able to guess the costume. The teeth/fangs were right too. He loved to pose on his "coffin". )

Welcome dear! Not to be a pain, but when I saw your note about grapes for your pup, it caused me alarm!! Please verify this information yourself, but I seem to remember that there is something in grapes (and raisins of course!) that is harmful to dogs. It's an enzyme or something similar that builds up over time in their systems and harms some certain organs. Onions have a similar effect with a different ingredient. I used to live in the wine country in Central CA and this was quite the topic of conversation for a while, as several winemakers dogs had developed a fondness for grapes and many had become ill. Again, I came by this information several years ago, so please verify yourself, but a little dog would have a harder time with this. Good luck and welcome to the frame! Lorraine in WA

I never heard about the grape problem until we got our pup a couple of years ago. I used to give our old dog grapes - he loved them, but now they say no grapes & no raisins, so we abide by the rules. (When I was a kid, my mom used to buy See's chocolate & hide it in her closet so we wouldn't eat it - but - the dog always found it & would eat a whole box of chocolate. She lived to be a ripe old age - but we don't give our pup chocolate either.)

I've also heard this, Lorraine, but we had a dog who picked the grapes right off our vines. She lived to almost 16. Admittedly, she did have pancreatitis near the end, but I believe that is a problem caused by too much fat in the diet so wouldn't be related to grapes. Perhaps it's like allergies in people - they affect some and not others?

I had a cat years ago that used to jump up on the side of the BBQ and steal fried onions right off the hot plate. The onions were probably not too good for him, but that was not my main concern. I used to have to lock him out of the house for 48hours after he ate onions because of the awful smell, and he would sit on my window sill and howl pitifully when that happened lol

I would love to live in a small town. That kind of friendliness is something I've never experienced living in S. Florida.

I was feeding my 2 cats canned tuna, salmon, mackerel and canned chicken, but my underweight kitty (she'd been sick) wasn't gaining any weight, so I went to Fancy Feast. Pricy, but they do eat it. They also enjoy french fries, potato chips, and cheese popcorn. Especially cheese popcorn. And drinking the leftover milk in my cereal bowl.

I hope someone answers that...........she's been a band camper for many, many years....as a camper and a counselor! I bet SHE knows the movie. Is it one of the American Pie movies? Seems like there's something about band camp in those.
