Just a quick update on my eldest DD.
She had a second visit to another cardiologist today and the hole in her heart is very large and she has a valve that doesn't work properly. So next year, as it isn't a medical emergency, they are going to try to fit a balloon in her heart to close the hole, the problem being that her hole is right on the edge of being possible to fix by this method and they will only know if it will work when they try to do it.
If this doesn't work, then she will have to go in for open heart surgery to fix it, which just sounds so frightening.....
I still can't believe that this was only found recently as she is over
16 and it should have been found on my antenatal scans! Oh yes and my other DD (13yrs) has a murmur as well so she is being checked out before the end of the hols, to see what is causing hers.......So fingers crossed for us please.....I can't believe that life can turn around so radically and quickly as it has. I look at my DDs, who are the picture of health and it is so hard to believe what is going on inside......
