OT: Nature's beauty and wonder

Found this -- and thought you might enjoy it, too.

You really don't appreciate the "size" of this nest - -until the very last picture.

Wow! You're so right, Kate. Even with the measurements of the eggs given in black and white, that last photo says it all. Thanks!

We're doing that here too. A mama sparrow decided that the cup holder in our golf cart would be the perfect place for a nest. Soon there were 3 tiny eggs. We've been waiting impatiently and proudly for 3 weeks and today I tippy-toed out to see how the nursery was doing. There were 3 of the tiniest little baby birds sound asleep. (I'd waited until just before dusk hoping not to disturb mama or the babies.) DD#1 thinks we should be out early tomorrow digging worms for Mrs. Sparrow. I think she's a seed gourmet and maybe it's going to be easier. Except for Yogi. He sorely misses his evening ride around the Swamp on the golf cart. We had never been witness to sparrow creation before. Yes. Yes. It is truly a beauty and wonder. Polly

How very sweet - and tiny! We had a nest of robin eggs in our grape vine. I got some wonderful pictures of the three eggs and then left them alone but unfortunately, for some reason the baby birds hatched but didn't survive. I think they were just hatched when we had a terrible rain storm that mama bird probably could not handle. I was so very sad!
