My printer died recently, and even my friend the computer geek said it was beyond repair, so after hearing about new printer issues on the newsgroup I was dreading getting a new one. Well, it had to be done, so I went out to Best Buy and picked up an HP Photosmart, which is sold to be wireless remote but which can be hooked up the regular way. I went ahead and just hooked it up to the computer and the electricity, and didn't even need to get different wires, and it is working beautifully! What a relief! It is sitting where the old printer sat, and seems to be perfectly happy with wires. I'm sorry it can't store paper and that I have to add paper every time to print, but it closes up completely, which is nice. And something really refreshing -- finally, a manufacturer who admits to paper jams and provides a removable cover to reach the jammed paper.
And the cat has been having fun with the box . . .
