OT: Outlook Express 6 (Windows XP) question

Okay, I'm still plodding along, getting used to all these new programs...

In my Mac newsreader, replies to messages I sent were nicely bulleted, so I could make sure I read anything that was a reply to what I wrote. But that doesn't seem to happen in Outlook Express 6 (I'm running Windows XP Pro). I've scoured the program's help for a clue, but I can't figure out a setting to make replies to me be highlighted or flagged in some way.

So, is there something I'm missing (yeah, yeah, I know. There's a LOT I'm missing!!!)? Or is this why so many of you also send a reply by email? Help!

Yes, I see the icon for things *I* reply to, but what I'm looking for is some indication of replies *to* me. For example, your message to me looked no different than all the other messages I just downloaded.

But, I can help you with the siggie thing now, thanks to the kind people here! Go to Tools, then Options, and click on the Signatures tab. You can set up one or more signatures there, and you have a choice to automatically add it. (Personally, I didn't like where it puts the signature, so I still add it manually, but it's just a mouse click, not a lot of typing.)

Gosh, you're sounding like DH when the employees ask him for computer help! "Um, you click this menu I think, then you do this other thing, and now I don't remember so you'll have to call Kathy." *snorfle*

I could also be Elena in Red... LOL It turned all "my" replies into red. Funny what a little switch will do. I took it back off and realized it wasn't showing any other threads. This group is so chatty, that took a moment to figure out.

Expressive eh? beats Impressive.. then you always gotta be answer> | Kathy, try going to View, Current View, then "Show Replies to my Messages"

Thanks. As I said to Elena, that may be a workaround.

In my old newsreader, I could see all the messages, but the ones that were replies to me had a bullet in a column to the right, and the name of the newsgroup had a bullet as long as there were unread replies. (I guess there has to be *some* penalty for going to the dark side, huh? LOL)

It turned mine red, but also marked ALL posts as "Read."

Hi Kathy! look at the left side of the list of messages. there are: a paperclip; a down arrow; and a pair of glasses. If you click on the glasses beside a message other messages with the same words in the topic will be highlighted in red.

highlighted

I clicked on the glasses, but all it did was change the sort order...
