OT Ping Lynne in Toranto

My computer's been strange lately, threatening worse. But, somehow I see your question about ping. As used here on rctq (not to be confused with the operation of submarines or producing movies) ping only means 'to the special attention of'. No chance that it won't be read or responded to by others, on or off subject. If you really want to attract attention, try 'test' or better yet, 'test, do not reply'. Ping, pong, bling, hootchie mama, and s**nk. Whatever. Bring it on. Great Gramma Polly

It is good that you haven't needed my assistance, Pat. Can't spell, don't know where Toronto is and my language is unavailable. Other than that I'm doing much better this morning. Polly

As far as I know, Toronto is still in Canada...but if it moved to, say, San Diego, for a few months, that would be okay, too.

Anyone coming north to TO, feel free to write to me about where the quilt stores are, and other great sights to see.

Lynne (still in Toronto).

Toronto is in Canada, but it is actually farther south (latitude 43.40 degrees N) than I am here in Rochester in southern Minnesota (44.22 degrees N) -- another one of those almost useless facts you really don't need to know.

You mean there is more than Yonge street and those sections of Queen and King streets? Yonge street for general browseing, and Queen and King streets to wallow in fabric. Unless I am clubbing (when I usually get hopelessly lost), I don't get much farther than that. Of course it will probably be awhile before I get up there again. The required papers _cost_.
