OT: Prayers Answered

Dear Friends, Prayers get all kinds of answers. I am not terribly sick today, just sorta sick with a throat too sore to swallow much. But.... and here's where teh answer comes in ..... my oldest son came home from work this morning with a bag filled with cold remedies just for me. He said he knew last night that I was getting sick and that I needed to be able to go out tonight so he took it upon himself to see if he could get something to make me feel better.

What an incredible answer to all your wonderful prayers, to see such amazing proof of my son's love and his generous heart. While I would never, ever take a dose of each thing he brought me (let's just say that Glaxo stock should be doing well today), I will be quite grateful for a small bottle of the most amazing throat numbing spray I've ever used. Wowsers! That stuff works.

More importantly, I got to see my 20-year-old son show compassion, perception and love. God answers many prayers, but few in my life have been more welcome than such a lovely proof that my boy is continuing to grow into a loving and kind man.

I have no idea why I am so fortunate, but my life is so filled with love that I just can't contain it all. I am the most blessed person I know, and every day brings that truth back to me. It makes chronic illness and pain seem almost inconsequential. Life is good and I intend to celebrate with all the joy in my pudgy little body.

Love and blessings on all of you and yours, Sunny

That is the most amazing and wonderful thing to have happened. The contrast between yesterday's post and this one is heart-warming. Thanks for letting us share your happiness. . In message , Sunny writes

Well! Your son is showing your the result of his upbringing. Last week a friend of mine was relating a similar story and seemed amazed his 22 yr old son was so thoughtful. My answer to him goes here to you, also. Your son was raised by you. The values you instilled didn't seem any big deal, didn't seem out-of-the-ordinary, according to you or him. Now he is old enough to see how people can be, not just the way he was raised, he has made a conscious decision that the compassion and caring way better suits him. Kudos to you!!!!

And, yeah! for feeling better!

And what more can we ask for in this life?

I hope you're back on your feet and at your sewing machine soon!
