OT: Prayers/Good thoughts needed

Hello everyone

In all of your good ways, the principal that hired me, now retired, and her family really need prayers/good thoughts today and in the days ahead. Her daughter, who is/was a twin, was gunned down in the parking lot of her place of work. Only 35 years young. No motive known yet, but the two women had known each other for several years. The shooter was arraigned today on First Degree Murder charges, so the entire ordeal for the family has only just begun. The family is one of the kindest and gentlest families I have ever known, all very involved in volunteer work and various charities. This only makes it even harder to comprehend. There's not much all of us up here can do at the moment since this all happened back in Michigan. We'll all just have to be here for her and her family when they return.

Thanks in advance.

Oh dear Steven. So sorry, so very sorry. Hurts hurt worse at Christmas and there's just no pain like losing a child. None. We will hold all of you close in our hearts and up in our prayers; please God cover you with the feathers of His wings. Trying to understand, it seems to me that a First Degree charge would mean that it was planned. How terrible, terrible. Hurting with you, Polly

As our Polly said these types of horrors seem to be even worse at this time of year. There's the reminder every year of the anniversary plus the forever loss of joyous holiday seasons seems to compound the tragedy. I am so sorry for your loss and the family's loss. I will pray for them to have the strength to endure.

How sad. Prayers for the family.

Where in Michigan? Things are bad here economically -- and sadly, such things have become almost commonplace. Bad news everywhere.

I hope they trial progresses quickly so this person can be judged and sentenced so that the family might begin to try to move forward.

Oh Steven, I can't think of anything that says what my heart feels about this...Sad doesn't even begin. I will keep you and the young victim's family in my prayers. And also the shooter's family. Because no matter what, that person is loved too and her loved ones must be horrified and lost. So much pain. May God bless you all.

How very dreadful. I echo all that has been said; this is supposed to be a season of peace, so the loss is magnified. Her family, especially her twin, have a really tough road ahead. I'll add my prayers to the others. . In message , Steven Cook writes

I cannot comprehend such awfulness. Prayers are on the way.

I echo the sentiments already stated. It is a tragedy magnified by the holiday season. And as a twin myself, I can certainly understand how her twin-mate may be reacting to all of this.

Prayers headed to all affected, from family to community. Ginger in [rainy] CA

Prayers and peaceful thoughts are on their way for this family. It is hard to lose a family member at Christmas time, and it must be even harder to lose a child to violence. My thoughts are with them. ME-Judy

Sometimes I question the wisdom of our Creator in giving us humans free will.
