OT QI Prayers and good thoughts needed.

My QI Kyra is my best friend and we need your prayers and good thoughts.. She is almost 13 and is diabetic but full of life and love..The greatest dog i know.. I noticed that sometimes she had trouble standing up but i thought that was because i have laminated flooring.. but it got worse and now it seems she is loosing the control of her back leggs.. This morning she could only get up with my help and even then she dragged her legs..now she is not even trying to stand up anymore.. i called the vet and we go there this afternoon..it doesn't look good..it doesn't look good at all.. Please let the powers of this great group work it's magic and let me enjoy my Kyra for a while longer...

Prayers for the vet and your beloved Kyra winging their way from Mississippi; meanwhile, rub the ears and do some sweet-talking for us. Polly

One more thing: don't be doing any anxiety or sympathy talk to Kyra. Tell her cheerfully and matter-of-factly that she's going to be all better in just a little while. Coddling Yogi when he has a problem only makes him sure that something really bad is going on. Pollly

Hugs for Kyra and for you from Australia.

We all want to keep our friends with us for longer.

You took the words right out of my mouth, Polly. It's the hardest thing I've ever had to do, acting like that to my first cat. But it does help them - and dogs are perhaps tuned in even better than cats. Just do your best - it might help you, too.

Just one word of encouragement: I was speaking to my neighbour across the road just this morning. Her old dog has back leg problems too. She was saying that they now have a little cart on wheels for him, as he is well in himself. I don't suppose it will work indefinitely, but it's helping his spirits at the moment. Please let us know how you get on at the vet's. . In message , Polly Esther writes

I'm sitting here with my dear old Missy (12 y.o. Golden Retriever) who has terminal cancer- last May she was given a month or two to live and she's still her laying at my side loving me. Her right hind leg was completely useless for a few days about a month ago. We carried her and helped her up each time she laid down. She's back to walking with hardly a limp, altho the cancer continues to grow. Don't give up on your precious baby too soon. It's so sad that our beloved furry ones can't live as long as we need and want and love them. Prayers and hugs for you and your baby.

Prayers and good thoughts for your dear Kyra...it is frightening when a beloved furry or feathery friend falls ill. Give her lots of hugs and rubs!

Oh no! I'm so sorry, and I have my fingers crossed that you're overly concerned. It's so hard when our furbabies are sick and can't tell us where it hurts.
