OT - Quick update on Uncle Al, my chemo, etc.

Good Morning,

First I want to thank all those who offered prayers and good wishes for my Uncle Al. He passed away peacefully a couple of days after I posted that request. He was surrounded by family and, according to my cousin, was quite ready to go and be reunited with my aunt. It is all he has wanted for the past several years. Thank you.

As for me, I seem to be doing O.K. I tolerated the first chemo very well. There were a couple of minor issues that were more peculiar than concerning. Both were resolved quickly (after much laughing). It took about ten days but I did start to feel noticeably better by Monday of this week. I expect that to continue although today might be a problem. The heat and humidity will make breathing difficult so I will hole up in the bedroom with the air-conditioner. Closed in a room with a noisy appliance is not my idea of a good time!

Other than that, I'm just waiting for the results of the sample testing to come in. That will dictate next steps.

As always, thank you for caring.

Rita

Glad the first round went so well -- hopefully they will continue to be uneventful! Grab lots of movies, a few puzzle books, some great reads and enjoy your time "holed up"!

Sorry to hear about your Uncle -- but to pass peacefully with family around is the best anyone can ask for when their time comes.

Prayers continue for you and your family.
