OT scrap piece of latch hook?

Hi, I'm looking for a scrap piece (3 x 3"?) of the stuff you use to do latch hook on. THere is no place in my city or near where I live to buy it and before I order yardage of in on the internet, I want to try out my idea. Instead of yarn I would like to use cut up pieces of t shirts and have my class make a "rug". I would like to test it out first. If anyone has a piece of this stuff they could pop in the mail I'd really appreciate it. Please email me privately. Thank you! Donna
