OT Storm victims in US, Canada and Australia

Comforting thoughts to all our friends on the North American continent who are suffering through winter storms. Hope your damage is light and your time without pwer is short.

Storms have also hit Queensland in Australia. I hope all those up north are safe and have not been hit by the unseasonal storms that lashed QLD this weekend.

Are any others around the globe experiencing severe weather?

Widespread flooding in eastern Scotland last weekend. Nobody killed but hundreds had to leave their homes.

Not yet. One reader of this group has sent a bit that might do it if made the focus of a larger design (like mostly water and a large green-and-grey triangle to represent the Bass Rock, which is where Marion's brother saw puffins when he was a kid), but it's held up in the Christmas post, which is slower than usual this year.

We tought the Scottish Seabird Centre at North Berwick might have something like a puffin teatowel but it seems not, though you can adopt a puffin:

There will be pictures galore on Google Images, Jack. Perhaps you could try photo transfer, in the meantime? I have a puffin stuffed toy - but that's no help. I just love the little guys. Good luck with getting something wonderful for your BIL's quilt. . In message , Jack Campin - bogus address writes

It was posted on Thursday as I promised, so it should be with you soon. Perhaps there are leaves on the line!

I don't see where to order the panel in the shop tab, but you might be able to track down the puffin batik panel here by emailing the site owners (third image from the bottom):

Also, there is a paper pieced one here!

Sally's puffins arrived this morning! One small piece but very detailed. Since it's intended for a lap quilt that's fine.

Someone here did an applique puffin that was rather nice. Would something like that help in any way? Debra in VA See my quilts at
