OT: This should not happen

Children should not precede their parents in death. My daughter who was 51, passed away nearly 2 weeks ago and I am heartbroken. She was very ill in Hospice. I could not go to see her as I am hooked up to many machines. My ex was in the same position. Too many machines and in hospice too. Fortunately my 2 other daughters were able to say goodbye to her. Her son, my grandson, is in the navy stationed in the Pacific also got leave to say good bye. My saving grace is that she will not suffer anymore

Dearest Rita, My mother's heart hurts with you. This is a heavy burden to carry and I will pray for you to find peace and comfort. While you may not have been with her physically, I know your love and devotion must have comforted her in her last days and without doubt she must have felt your presence as much as if you'd stood by her bed. I truly believe the bond between mother and child transcends time, distance and even death. She still knows your love, as you still know hers.

There are no words to convey to you the sorrow I feel for your losing your daughter. I can think of no greater pain in life than losing one's child. Please be comforted in the knowledge that you will love each other always. She is only a memory away.
