He nearly ran in to the room today, at age 2 3/4, he was so excited. And woke up at 6am as well. He is the youngest and smallest, but I didn't want him to wait 3 or 6+ months just because of his birthday because, well, he can read and loves math, and when we visited a month or so ago to have a look around he clutched the multiplication board to his chest, said, "I'm three now!" and didn't want to come home. So, he went off today with a packed lunch and a big grin on his face. And came home one tired and happy little boy, with lots of things to chat about. This is my favourite conversation *so far*:
Mama: "What was your favourite part of preschool?" Tristan: "Playing outside in the garden." Mama: "Who did you play with?" Tristan: "With somebody else. Somebody Else opened the door and I followed. Somebody else jumped off the step and I did too. Then we ran around the garden and fell down. And laughed. And then Somebody Else went back inside so I did too." Mama (trying very hard not to laugh): "Was this person a boy or a girl?" Tristan: "A girl." Mama: "Do you know her name?" Tristan: "No....." Mama: "Perhaps you could ask her on Wednesday...?"
