OT - Wanna see Yoda the Big Boy?

My tiny baby is now a big boy. Learning new things every day and just plain growing way too fast. He's 5 1/2 months now and weighs 18.5lb (up from 6lb 9 oz at birth!)

Ryan (aka Yoda) started eating big boy food this last week. He took to it right away. I got pictures, of course:

In other news, he went swimming for the first time on Friday. He got a new swim diaper that is just adorable. I had been wanting to take him in the pool pretty much since he was born, but I finally remembered to buy him a swim diaper last week. He didn't mind the water and even kicked around on his tummy for a while. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen. Here's the pictures - warning, the second one has a pic of me in a swimsuit.

Ryan's buddy Matthew was at the pool with us, he didn't get to swim though. He and Ryan sit on the side of the pool during my water aerobics class. Ryan went swimming after that. So, after our swim, we caught up with Matthew and his mommy in the locker room. It was one of the first times they have actually "spoken" to each other and they had been stretching to see each other in the locker room. I picked up Matthew and held him so they were face to face and Ryan decided to chew on Matthew's toes. I guess he figured since Matthew does it, he had yummy toes. Here are pictures of that one. You can see Matthew in the mirror in the second picture. He's two weeks older that Ryan and 2lb lighter.

And here's a picture of my adorable little man just being his usual smiley self:

Can't type any more, my hands are being chewed on.

The pictures are great. I have an 8-month old grandson and it's the best!! He started swim lessons when he was 10 weeks old. My daughter did the whole bit - lifeguard, instructor, examiner - so wanted to get him started. He really does swim. Wish I knew how to get the pictures on here. Think I just figured it out but the one I want to send of him under water with his swim fins is not on my computer. He was only 5 lbs 8 oz at birth and is now about 17 lbs. Eats everything in sight. Has already had 2 haircuts!! Enjoy. It goes by very quickly. Take care, Roz Agulnik

Hi there - he still sounds a real cutie! :) Looks like a proper cherub, too!

I'm amazed you kept him off solid food this long! James was eating Christmas Dinner - ground up roast venison and veggies - at 12 weeks, and had been on solids for almost a month! I couldn't fill him up on milk alone.

By Ryan's age he was on baby muesli for breakfast, a baby yoghurt and a mashed banana for lunch, and whatever we were having ground up for his tea! He was also on full cream cow's milk. I reckoned that cow that stayed in him was doing him a lot more good than formula all over the carpet, me, and whatever else it hit when it bounced! I also started making him baby meals and freezing them. One of his favourites was a selection of veggies and spuds ground up in the food processor with cheese.

Oh Emma thanks for these pictures. Ryan is lovely - he looks so well and sturdy! You must be so pleased. He looks gorgeous. And, if I had a smile like yours, I wouldn't mind who saw me in a swimsuit!! . In article , DavesFatChick writes
