Has anyone heard from our Aussie friends? Looks like they are now taking a battering from a cyclone called Yasi. Just what they don't need after the terrible floods that they've just survived.
Hope they are all safe and dry.
I have jut watched the news on TV and fortunately there have been no deaths or injuries recorded to date but two babies were born overnight.
There is destruction and debris around with people being warned not to venture outside yet - of course, there are some people anxious to see about their homes and the usual sightseers (sp).
Yasi has been downgraded to a 2 but is still travelling across Queensland towards the Northern Territory and causing damage to the small towns in its path.
Overall I think the authorities are pleased that the destruction was not as predicted.
For those interested, we have had one death associated with Yasi -
