PING Nell - your logo

Hi Nell,

I know a lot of time has elapsed but so many things have happened here... Sorry I didn't take care of the matter sooner. The question is: Do you still want a logo from me or have you found something else or are completely off the idea? I'm not much further than when I first said I have a great idea for you. It's rough sketch and if you are still interested, I could scan it and mail it to you.

I'd forgotten all about it. I still like the idea. But other than sketching a few ideas myself have got nowhere. I did look up how much it would cost to get some labels made, and had a fit, but that is as far as I got.

It was always a pipe-dream/ castle-in-the-air thing. So I am open to all ideas.

Don't spend time/energy/money on it though. I still like the idea of a heart and crossed needles/scissors.

How are you? Not anything too serious happening, I hope.

Take care.

Nel

Oh, I'm bettter now, but in early June I lost a baby in week 11, on DD's Birthday our dear cat died (choked on a bit of dry kitty num), and just a week ago a woman ran right into my car without looking. I wasn't too fast so she could still walk and one of the headlights got smashed. But she said she'd sue me for damages. Good luck, it was her fault, I got witnesses. Anyway, that's about the major catastrophes in our life. I can talk about it now, but as for kids, that was our last attempt and now DD will grow up as a single child. As for the cat, I won't forget him in a hurry but as DD is in Kindergarten in the mornings, the house was so terribly empty that we took in two kittens from an animal shelter (they overflow these days) and now those two Brohters of Chaos bring a lot of life into my silent mornings.

Yes, the logo... I'm terribly afraid, but I can only do it as good as possible. ;-) I'll send you the sketch as soon as I get my scanner back to life and you tell me if it fits and then I'll go to work on the details. In the end you get a .jpeg file which you can send in to the label maker. Did you ask about colours? I mean, if they make the entire thing much more expensive than just black and white stuff? Because if I could work with an extra colour things would be easier.

Ursula, you poor dear. I am so very sorry all this happened to you and your family- what heartbreak. You have my sympathy and prayers.

My deepest sympathies to you all. What a dreadful time you have had.

Please only amuse yourself with this little project, it is of no real import.

And you have enough to contend with.

Take things gently with yourself. Nel (Gadget Queen)

Thank you for your sympathy. It has been quite unpleasant, yes, but work and keeping busy helps. Also, we have one healthy child and she is a real treasure, so there is some comfort.

Oh, I like it quite a lot. Perhaps, one day, I'll be a famous logo designer when I's growed up. ;-) As for taking care of myself - yes, I seek help when needed, professional and otherwise. So let's go to work on our little project. I mean, the facts won't disappear by keeping on going but life has to go on, doesn't it? I still miss my old cat; he was the best ever, but he won't come back, no matter how much I mourn for him. And when I cuddle the new kitties, I know that I did a good thing since there are so many homeless cats and kittens and I only regret that I couldn't take more of them with me. There was an older cat, male, in that shelter who looked at me with that special look. Since all three previous cats had been ill in some way or other, we had decided that we wanted healthy specimen for a change and he needed special food because of a tendency towards bladder stones or some such thing. But still, if it hadn't been for the lady in that shelter who said he liked it quiet I would have taken him with me. But that's another story. As for our children - we have to spend all our care and wits on the living one so that her life will be a success. Sometimes I think that things arrange in their own way and life has its own purpose in leading us the roads it does. But that's philosophy. ;-)

Thank you, Barbara, Sandy, and Leslie, for your kind words and hugs. More than I expected. Kate didn't exaggerate when she said that you are a really kind buch here; you hardly know me and still... (OK, Barbara, we've met at alt.sewing). Thank you again.

Hi Nell!

Uh, I'm going to send you the sketch tonight, as a jpeg attachment. Your private email is eyren at aol dot com, right? I'm just sending you a warning so that my mail doesn't end up in your spam filter. ;-)

Got it. Yes, it was in the Spam folder, but retrieved.

Thank you, it looks good. I need a heart motif somewhere. I particularly like the scissors, though. The crown might be a little pretentious, but I like it, anyway! I'll put it on my photobucket tomorrow in case anyone else is curious. It's too late to do it tonight.

Thank you. Nel (Gadget Queen)

The crown pretentious? Now, really! Not for a queen, I should say. ;-) OK, I'll incorporate the heart, too. Does it have to be large or small? And what does it stand for?

Hi Nell,

did you get my private mails from Saturday? Just asking 'cause I don't trust the great voids of the internet, no pressure for decision.
