Yellow for me
Flossy Malvern England
***** Queen of Plaids ******My choice would be the red....I think a yellow could be really good...just not that particular yellow....just my .02
Replies from my kids.... Lydia (8) says RED, Jacob (6) says blue....
Me? I say use all of the backgrounds and alternate them!!!

I agree with Kellie. If all of the pinwheels are the same; then I'd use different backgrounds for each block. That would keep the quilt from being predictable.

Yellow - especially if, as you say, its brighter than in the photo.
Small suggestion here - can you turn the flash off on your digital camera? - it can be too bright at close distance...

Go the red, Go the Red - and if he doesn't like it, well, y'all know where to send it!
For the one you showed us, I vote red. Could we see more of the pinwheels?

I like the red best. I like the way one of the bugs just blends right into it. Some may say it makes it stand out less, but I think it's kind of intriguing and makes you take a second look to see where one starts and the other stops. Sort of like a star made of swiss cheese.
Yellow would be my second choice, but if I could have the world ( snort ) I'd make it a brighter yellow. :)
I think it all depends on the effect youre going for. The blue is lovely. The design and background go together in a friendly way... The red makes a very bold zingy statement. If you are looking to make a very strong quilt thats the one you go with. The yellow makes the kaliedescope stand out well, and compliments the yellow in the bugs. Personally I would find a forth, a tone on tone of deeper red.. a stone wash or batik look. Or a lightly patterned green.. medium green. HTH Diana
Gut reaction- NOT the blue I love the yellow red is good too
