prairie points

Question about sewing Prairie points on the bottom of a wall hanging. I already have part of the thing quilted. Is there a tutorial anyone knows of on how to bind and add the pp's to a quilt? I just want them along the bottom edge and not sure how to do that. I might just be overworking it but I don't think I have ever added pp's at all to a quilt. Taria

Not knowledgeable about tutorials etc, Taria. However, I do know of one way you can do it (I did this). Instead of binding the bottom edge (you can bind the other three or do them the same as the bottom edge), make a facing. Then when you are ready to sew the facing on, insert the prairie points between the quilt top and the facing. Do be careful to test that when you fold back the facing, the prairie points are the way round that you want them to be (before sewing the whole thing down - wonder how I know!)

I am very fond of facing finishes >g< . In message , Taria writes

Thanks Pat. DH just wandered through the sewing room and looked at the different ways I could use or not use the prairie points. He voted not to use them at all. I think I can agree with that just for ease if nothing else! So I guess I just need to finish the quilting up and bind it. woohoo!
