purple square chain letter

Today I received in the mail from my sister a chain letter to send 2

6" purple squares to each of 5 people. Does anyone want to participate. I don't think I can come up with 4 who do, but it seems like it would be fun to receive a bunch of different purple squares to make a simple quilt for charity or other.

Forget it--that scam's been around for ages--You'll rarely get anything back. Besides, mailed chain letters are illegal. Gen

I agree with Gen & Sandy. If you want squares from lots of people, sign up for the baseball swap next spring. It's too late for this season, but there is usually a notice posted here in the spring before the season starts. You'll end up with a wonderful assortment of squares of all colors and prints to use for charity quilts or anything else your heart desires.

You are right, Julia, on all counts. I've never seen that letter for orange, or red, or any color but purple!

Debra, If you want a variety of fabric .... assorted or single color .... you could organize a charm square exchange. We used to have quite a few here.

Yeah - it's passed thru my mailbox twice. I don't do chain letters of any sort, but when I received this from 2 different people, I sent them some purple fabric.

If you sent the sender some fabric, but didn't send the letter on, you've broken the chain. I assume that's what she meant.
