question about fabric

I have found some fabric that is on sale and I am wondering what it means by Textures. I need some and I know the name of what I am thinking of just as well as my own name but it won't come to me, wonder if that has anything to do with it is almost 6:30 AM and I have yet to go to bed?

Tone on tones or fillers as some call them. Anyway the newsletter said the following:

"More Textures also arrived - these are the off-priced Marble type cottons that have been so popular and at $4.25, why not!? See them all at

" Second what does it mane by off-priced does that mean they are flawed? The reason I am wondering about texture does that mean you might feel the weave as in some upholstery material, like a heavy weave or is that the name of the fabric.

Any help would be appreciated and is this a good deal on this fabric. I bought lots of the apple butter when it was on sale at the fabric shack I think it was and I ordered 18 yards and only got like 4 yards, I thought I was early but apparently many folks beat me to it.

I think they mean visual texture like blenders and tone on tones. I believe off price means lower prices than other textural fabrics like Moda Marbles or Marble Mania by Patrick Lose. If the fabric was flawed I'm sure, in the interest of not ticking off their customers, they'd say so. (If not, they deserve all the wrath that they receive.)

Are you sure it's a sale price? I don't see anything that says that the fabric is on sale and that makes me a little leery. One of my pet peeves is websites that don't list the fabric designer or manufacturer. It's hard to decide whether it's good quality fabric or not. With Walmart cutting back on their fabric departments the fabrics are going to be sold to other places. I'm not trying to start a fabric quality war but it's one thing to buy non-quilt shop quality and know that you're buying it. It's another to think you're getting a great deal on quilt shop quality fabric only to find you haven't.

If I were you I'd email the store and ask who the maunfacturer is. Just my 2 cents. :o)

My first thought is that Textures is the name of the design line -- especially because the word is capitalized so is a "proper" name. Sort of like saying something... More "Peter Rabbit" arrived. I would assume that any fabric line called "Textures" would be a fabric with a textured looking print -- maybe it's the stuff printed with stones or leaves or bark or water, etc. I bet Leslie would kkkow -- she does loads of landscape quilts and is always looking for stuff with different texture designs printed on it.
