anyone used, or even seen, one of these tables? If so, could you pleasecomment on the sturdiness, stability and general utility of the table. It looks great but I hate to spend so much money, sight unseen!

Thank you, Eimear

Foryears I had a table that looked a lot like the Sewezi. I got used to it, but do have to say that it shook when I sewed. The vibrations affected the table. If it is this or nothing I would say you would be ok, however you can get a rectangular folding table at WalMart for about $48.

I can't comment on it at all, but recently one of the students in my quilting class was talking about getting this or something like it. I found something like it at Nancy's Notions for about 1/2 the price. You might want to try to compare the two of them & see which best suits your needs. You can probably return either one if you aren't happy. (I know - a pain to pay for shipping on both ends.)

But the WalMart table doesn't have the cutout for the machine so that the machine bed is flush with the table top.

This table looks a lot like the folding table that I bought for my Elna Supermatic back in 1967 or so. I used that a lot. The top was flush with the machine bed, but I could flip it back to use the free arm -- very convenient. It was less expensive than a cabinet and more portable as it could be folded for storage, though I had it out most of the time.

Yikes! For that price I'll stick with my $35 six foot table from Office Max. With a cut-out area for the sewing machine, a scrap of

2X6 lumber and 3 purchased L brackets, I have a large sewing surface with my machine lowered to the table height- and I only spent about $45 for the whole shebang. That price leaves a LOT of money for more stash and fancy threads. ;-) And I can collapse my table and slide it under the guest room bed if I wanted to.... but I'd rather leave it up and ready to sew. I saved the cut-out piece- we duct tape it in place, throw a nice tablecloth over the table and use it for buffets when we have the whole gang over for a meal!

I have one and love it. I had a similar one which was (pressed)wood with laminate, and that sucker was heavy. (Tina has it now. I left it in Houston when I bought the SewEzi. I wanted a table to take to classes/workshops/camps/retreats type things and this one is great for that. Light weight, but doesn't bounce around when I sew on it. (and I sew fast!) Has a cover to hold the acrylic "surround" that fits the free arm of the machine, and the wheels are on it so it rolls very easily in and out. 2 handle holes too, one on the end and one on the side so it is easy to put into and out of the car. And with the cover the legs don't try to swing out and all. It was very worth the investment. Yes it was about double the price of the "wood" one, but moving it around and such I won't hurt my back and scrape my knuckles and all.

Thanks, all, for your comments and input. Since I live in Western Canada, the shows are a bit out of reach for me so I appreciate your information even more.

Happy quilting!

: I have a Sewezi table and i love it. It is the right height and it gives all that extra space to lay out the quilt.

I just got a new Brother machine which does not fit in my current model. I am looking for a new home for my sewezi table.

I notice the date was more question was 2 years old. If you have not gotten information on the SewEZi Table, I will tell you it is the best investment in a sewing accessory I have made. I have had mine for at least three years. Whenver I travel I take it with me. I have three different machines, so I purcased inserts for each machine. I take it on sewing retreat, vacations, etc. It is very sturdy. I strongly recommend this table. Kathleen
