Quilt Guild Websites

I'm exploring the idea of creating a guild website. I've been searching for some out there... and have stumbled across a few. Does your guild have a website? If so -- can you post a link? Have you stumbled across any that you thought were particularly well done?

Thanks!

I found a great resource at the San Francisco guild. They have links to lots of different guild pages. It will keep you busy for a while.

My guild's website (it is a big area guild, over 700 members with a dozen or so individual chapters) Greater Hartford Quilt Guild:

It works well when it's kept up to date. I particularly like the class information -- it's saved me a call or two to the class chair when I've lost, er, the dog ate my supply list.

WOW! Both am and pm meetings? Must be a large guild! I was curious to see your newsletter... but it looks like that is for guild eyes only!

Thanks for the link!

Here's the website for the BIG guild I belong to (over 400 members)

My little guild turned itself into a get together and sew or quilt group instead of having business meetings - it has no website and no newsletters anymore (yippee - I was the newsletter editor!). We're really enjoying the informality and the fun we're having since getting rid of the business end of the group.

Here's my guild's. It's pretty modest; just a beginning. It serves mainly to provide a reliable spot from which to get the newsletters..

here's some other guilds in my area..

Ours not a large guild (120ish) but getting the website up has eliminated most of the cost of mailing newsletters which helps the kitty. The site is purposely kept simple to allow everyone quick access on whatever type of computer they have. Changes are made pretty slowly, not even the computer literate want to dig through bouncy, jumpy, cutise, or confusing pages to get to the BOM pattern or print the newsletter before running out the door to the meeting. Its sometimes a frequent reminder to some that the website is open to the whole world and not just our small group.

My local guild's is pretty basic. It's actually in my personal webspace and provides a repository for the current newsletter and lotto block:

It's slightly out of date. Our member who runs it has two school age kids, a career, and a husband...so changes to the website have been more reactive than proactive. :) It's a nice website that hasn't reached its potential yet. Pictures in there from our last quilt show in 2004 too.

The "big" guild (over 2100 members all over the state) I belong to has a website:

Just checked it out and parts are out of date, not sure who is web"master", but then it is summer and stuff sort of stops here in the summer. The other group I belong to is PAQA, the Phoenix Area Quilters Association.(50-60 members, most in the Valley) Their website is:

It may also need updating. For a while our web person was dealing with caring for a terminally ill parent and the web site suffered. It is supposed to be getting worked on now.

Hey, we should be sister guilds or something. The guild in Half Moon Bay is Piecemakers.
