quilt pattern suggestions wanted

Hi, I want to hand piece and quilt a quilt to go on my bedroom wall to replace an old log cabin quilt (the first quilt I ever made!) I have a collection of 16 yellow and blue fabrics (long quarters) that I would like to use. I don't want to do anything with triangles or really small pieces. What pattern would you suggest?

Thank you Sarah

I would suggest 9-patches, either bordered (let's say blue nine

-patches bordered with yellow, alternating with yellow nine patches bordered with blue).... or you could throw a bit of a white print in there and do blue/white nine patches and yellow/white nine patches, with some blue/yellow sashing. I do love 9-patches. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, why not try Glorified

9-patches? I do love the big interlocking rings that appear with that pattern, and there is a simplified way to do the blocks. If you're interested, email me.

Hi, I've been lurking about three months in this group and love the wonderful give and take and the information as well. I'm not brave enough to post any photos of my quilts yet. I just started quilting a couple years ago and I'm a slow learner, LOL. I am fascinated by "Glorified Nine-Patch." What is that? Can you tell me how to do it or what it looks like?

Thanks, and I'll continue to lurk for a while, butting in once in a while for a question. And maybe sometime I'll get brave enough to post a photo, if I can figure out how to do it. :)

Sunny BTW -- Nice to meet you

I just bought the template/instructions for the heartland one. It is near the top of my get to list. Jan has a great glorified 9 patch. I think it is on her page. If so maybe she'll give us the link. That one of Sandys is wonderful. I am inspired. Welcome SUnny. Don't be shy. Taria
