quilt racks

Are there standard sizes of quilts that are hung on the wall? Would 2', 3',

4' wood racks be good sizes?

Any size quilt may be hung anywhere. In fact, the ones that often become wallhangings are the odd-size ones. If you plan to switch them around, then you need a flexible hanging system. Mine is a wood curtain rod with nice finials. 2-3 small nails hammered in right up at the top of the ceiling (2 spaced the length of the rod, with another in the middle if it's long.) Then strong fishing line (clear or smoke, whichever fades best into your wall color) looped around one end of the rod, up over the nails, down around the other end and back again. Adjust the rod to the desired height and tie off securely. The length of the rod pretty much fills the space available. IMO, it's OK to hang a smaller quilt, and a larger one won't fit, so no problem! (The rod goes through a hanging sleeve or loops on the quilt.) Roberta in D
