Quilting!! Finally

Please send me good thoughts and lots of energy. I am finally quilting my "Remember Me" Challenge wallhanging. Nobody who sees it will ever know by looking how much work and time went into this simple, not very good wallhanging. But I know. I put on designn pieces and then took them off. I changed the background. I cut it in half and changed the entire idea.

And now I'm quilting it. I don't think I can do the freehand stuff tonight. Just the "straight lines" stuff. So think of me tomorrow. I will post photos as soon as I can. The fun part is that I am going to attach most of the "interesting parts" of the scene after the qulting is finished. Lots of motion and loose edges. It won't be good enough for the guild quilt show. But next year........ I will be there.

Good thoughts are with you! But please stop apologizing. Doesn't matter if it's not Great Art of the Ages! It's part of your experience, you will learn something from it, so it's worthwhile. Therefore no apologies necessary! As the wise person once said, those who don't make mistakes don't make anything. So just enjoy the process and the experience as it happens, and learn whatever you need to learn. (And I'm betting it's a pretty fine piece, based on what I've seen of your work!) Roberta in D

Sunny,

Did you have fun doing it? To me that's the most important part. If you did, then you succeeded... I struggle with many of my "projects' but I have so much fun doing it, so it doesn't matter. Your quilt sounds great to me. I'm always trying something new. hey, it makes life and quilting fun.

I think everything that I have done, quilting and otherwise has "problems" if you stare at them long enough. Problems are the tools that we learn by. I also don't think that there is really anything such as perfection: Just degrees of perfecection. I try to enjoy what I make and hope that each time I do something, it reflects progress toward the goal of perfection, even though I know I will never reach it. I hope you end up liking your piece and bet it will be just fine. It is just different that what you had invisioned when you started it.
