Re: Houston IQF is gettin closer!

Yes, summer is going to be over before we know it!

If you can, do consider staying over Sunday. Some of us who went back to the festival on Sunday last year have compared notes and agree that the light crowd made it a really enjoyable (and productive) day. It's much easier to walk the aisles, actually talk to a vendor if you have a question, and find that booth you were trying to find during the crazy days.

There is a very slight possibility that I'll be there. My boss who taught me how to quilt goes every year, but since I'm her assistant we don't know if i can be gone too. She usually goes Friday and Saturday, I would be there Saturday and Sunday and drive back to Dallas Monday morning.

We'd have to get someone else to "run" the school for part of the time.

[All, I forgot to designate the year in my previous post, so I'll add it here. Since we have ongoing discussions about two different years, I encourage everyone to put the year in the subject if you can.]

Babs, I do hope that you'll let us know the moment that the slight possibility becomes a definite!

I iz gonna string youze up on the clothesline out back when you get here, Young Lady!!!!!!!! Misspelted my name and even ADDED an "a" and dropped the "h" : ( Better yet--I'm gonna send My Mamma after you!! She even argued with the Pastor when he was baptizing me....NO "a" it's after the French Saint with an "e" NOT the Spanish one with the "a"" ((my Grandfather was stationed in France during WWI))

There you have it folks--that is why I go by Butterfly --not even mah friends k> heres whats on my list fwiw.

I am going! Where is this group going to be staying? I hear that tattoos are mandatory?

Yes, tattoos are mandatory. They have to be real, but they don't have to be permanent. That is, they just can't be a figment of your imagination! We stayed in the Ramada last time, but I'd love to stay in a closer hotel. They were working on a swanky one down close to the convention center last year. I'm sure it will be open for 2003, too.

Linda, are you planning 2003 or '04? I'm going in '04. I'd love to go both years, but that won't happen. I also plan on either being on a shuttle route, or close enough to walk. Sharing taxis wasn't bad, $$ wise, when there were 4 or 5 of us. Sometimes the shuttles were so full that was the only choice!

I was a little scared going by myself last year, too. But I soon got over that!

And don't forget she was also going to meet Ally and me! Hmph! I think I'm affronted! ;)

Butterfly/Therese (authentic French spelling! ), I was a French teacher for years, and this is one of my favorite French names. It's so pretty! (Feeling better yet?)

Boohoo! Now *I'm* sad, too, cuz I'm hoping to be there both this year (2003) *and* next year! Well, it's definite for this year, but I'm also hoping for next year!

Sheesh! No, I wasn't scared of meeting you guys! I'd just never traveled anywhere by all by myself since I was 12 years old, and that was a complete nightmare!

Fine, if it will make you all feel better, I'll soak some FQs in margaritas and mail them off in ziploc bags. When they get there, you can squeeze them into glasses.
