Can he swim? There are several water aerobic options that take the weight off the knee and other joints that may allow him to still get a good work out. Please look into water-based exercises for him.

I can't do this any more because of the chlorine in public pools and I miss it terribly. I loved the pool related activities and was a certified lifeguard and swim instructor.

I wish swimming were an option - but in addition to there being chlorine in the p. pools, there are several hardy germs that to most of us are quite harmless but to a person with cf could be fatal. No hot tubs, jacuzzis, pools, or any other public, "canned" water.

Prayers from TExas to you! How wonderful modern medicine is that your son is still here well into adulthood. He must be a strong individual.

Prayers on the way. Sounds like you ALL need them! As an adult, it's a bit harder to put him over your knee and whack his back, as they do with kids, but there should be some physio he can have without using the bad knee and arm/shoulder.
