The 8:30 and 1:30 slots are different episodes! I guess it would make sense if they were showing the same episode twice a day, but they havent been.

Hullo Rebecca and welcome Just a point about your complicated blocks. Don't make them into pillows or something small!! Store them all up and when you have a dozen or so (depending on the size) put them together to make a quilt - your own sampler. I should do that really as I don't enjoy making loads of blocks of the same sort. Even if they are different sizes, you can still join them. There are some really fun settings you can do with different sized blocks. Sorry I can't join in about Simply Quilts - I am from UK (where we don't get any quilting on TV at all). I have seen some taped shows, though, and I think they are terrific. . In article , NYC-FMS writes

I think that if enough quilters contacted "the powers that be" about their desire to have this TV show available, that perhaps they might listen. Hey, it couldn't hurt:

The problem is, there aren't any appropriate channels on Sky, so I doubt it would be carried. Maybe on UK Style, but it's not mainstream enough. Anyone from the UK have a better idea? I can't see any of the big 5 carrying it, so it'll have to be satellite.
Charlie.

And Telewest have just started showing "The God Channel" - and before everyone shouts me down in flames (or tongues!) here, I'm trying to make the point that if they can make a whole channel dedicated to the "happy-clappy brigade", they can flippin' well make a specific channel for crafters of all sorts! Just think - Dawn Bibby from Topaz can actually show us how to rubber stamp without QVC ramming the selling side down our throats, and Carol Smith & Donna Dewberry can come over from Plaid and show us how to paint and decorate our homes...

Wow, they are really signing up fast, I was number 77 this morning!
I just looked and they have 648 signatures at 7:15 pacific Keep signing...
I'm number 987 now, though I also wrote to HGTV earlier today in response to Ami Simms's newsletter plea.
I just signed it now and was #1112, it's building pretty quick

At least some people are actually getting replies! I've only had a reply to one email to HGTV, and it said (more or less): that's the way we do it!
But I'm confused! What do they mean by "dual feed"? If they are going to broadcast at two different times (once for each coast), doesn't that mean there will be two broadcasts (of the same episode) each day? Actually, that's the way it was "in the beginning," except only on two days of the week.

Maybe we could save up really hard, get all the Quilters in the UK to give a little and sponsor our own channel! I wish...
Charlie.
But those poor Brits use a different tape format than we do (as well as a different DVD format), so unless you turn it into a MPEG and email it, it's a bit hard for us to share the show... :(
I tried Discovery Home & Leisure - it was one of my satellite targets. But, no dice I'm afraid. . In article , Paul & Suzie Beckwith writes
DVD's are usually fine - most DVD players sold over here are multi region. How did the person who sent tapes over do it?
Charlie.
I wonder if someone on your side of the pond had a US VCR at their disposal? Would that do the trick???
Sent the tapes I made off to OZ-Land. Didn't seem to have any trouble there.....haven't sent any to UK as of yet. Butterfly (more ppl that ASK and from diff countries, better chance that they will see what they can do--gotta get some of these TV ppl to think
